We are moving to South Africa. This means that we have to give up our rabbits this is a very sad moment but I will always remember them
Recently wriggles had 5 kits but sadly none survived. We had thought she was a boy, so she lived with the boys and became pregnant.
Now we know she’s a girl she is happily living with Dandelion and Honey and I can really see she is much happier.
I have two favourite types of pellets. I usually use supreme science selective pellets but i also like to mix in a bit of the burgess excel rabbit nuggets. I like these because the help keep teeth worn down and they aid digestion. My rabbits also love the way these pellets taste. I like the little rabbit care tips on the science selective pellet bags.
During storm Gertrude in January, the high winds sent poor Bumper the rabbits hutch flying. Bumper flew out of his hutch landing safely on his owners roof.Luckily the Northern Ireland fire and rescue service were able to entice the poor rabbit don with “one short extortion ladder, one reach pole and one particularly tasty carrot.
I would hate to of ended up in a situation like that, fortunately poor Bumper the bunny was rescued from the rooftop.
There are many different types of hay to choose from but personally I have a few favourites.
I mainly use Pillow Wad meadow hay, I really like this type of hay because it contains many different types of grass. In the hay I do find dandelions and rose petals this is really good for the rabbits because it is healthy and every once and a while the rabbits find a treat hidden in the hay. It encourages rabbits to forage and rabbits exercise while foraging.
The second type of hay I use is Burgess Excel dandelion and marigold herbage. With this hay I like to put it in bird feeders and hang them up so that the bunnies can work for the hay. This hay is a bit of a treat because the bunnies don’t get it very often. In this is dried dandelions and marigolds in timothy hay.
I would recommend feeding your rabbits variety of different types of hay to keep your rabbit interested in eating hay. You should also let your rabbit eat fresh grass and leaves.
